Newly Restored Tower Clocks at
The Oconto County Courthouse
LUMICHRON Clock Company completed the tower clock restoration at the Oconto County Courthouse in September, 2014. The court house, located in the picture-perfect town of Oconto, Wisconsin, was built in 1891 and was designed by Rau & Kirsch; the cupola and 4-sided clock tower with bell was added in 1907. The original 7-foot-diameter cast-iron and art glass Roman clock faces as well as the cast bronze bell were retained. We removed the old Seth Thomas clockworks and installed new state-of-the-art computer-controlled automatic clock movements, controller, and digital bell striker. Now, the hands are in exact synchronization with Atomic time, and will reset automatically for Daylight Saving and power interruptions. The 4 faces cast a welcoming glow every night with warm-white LED’s. You can read a little more about this clock tower restoration in this article published by the local Times Herald.
LUMICHRON restored the same model Seth Thomas Clock for an historic building on Lake Drive in Grand Rapids, Michigan with clockworks, illumination, and restoration of the cast-iron and art-glass face. We have also replicated all the clocks for each rest area on the historic Merritt Parkway in Connecticut.
