First, it starts with a quote request from you, either via our website, an email or a call us at 616-245-8888. Sometimes architectural specifications for a clock are provided, or sometimes it is just a conversation with a customer. Whether you fill out a form detailing size and type of clock, or send us a photo of what kind of clock you want, the first step is to gather information about the project.

Next we prepare a price quote for your specific clock. The quote includes all the details of the clock and an estimate for the cost to deliver to you or the jobsite. Also included are our purchase terms and warranty details. Upon request we quickly furnish technical drawings specific to your clock project. Every clock installation and environment is different, so every clock is different. You will need complete and thorough information to ensure your clock will be properly built for the space — whether it is a golf course, an apartment building wall, or a courthouse clock tower.

Specific Drawings and Wiring Diagrams for Your Approval
With adequate information, our submittal package will be customized for the job and delivered within days of receipt of an order. Submittal details furnished can include: Technical drawings of the building clock, master clock controller functionality, make and model, clock movement make and model, electrical wiring details, complete illumination details such as temperature of the LED’s (Kelvin), make and model of the LED’s and power supply all to ensure a very high quality end-product for your special big, commercial building clock.
Fabrication of Your Clock
After the Submittals have been approved, it’s time for fabrication. Everything is made-to-order so communication is very important. With no local salesman or reps, Lumichron has a factory-direct approach to streamline the process. We take every project personally. Every big clock project has a file and is kept in our project library.
Turn-around depends on work-flow at the time, but normal lead times for a big building clock is around 5 to 8 weeks. Once the clock is nearing completion we will send final billing along with completion photos prior to crating and shipping.
Delivery and Installation
All big clocks are built self-contained ready-to-install with little to no assembly required – typically only field electrical connections. Skeletal clocks featuring hands with indexes/numbers are shipped with all the necessary parts including a full-sized drill pattern, fasteners, etc. We often get feedback from clients who appreciate the thorough instructions and ease of installation of their large clocks.
NO Maintenance Agreements – NO Add-On Charges – EVER
We don’t sell maintenance agreements for our clocks. Generally, there is no regular maintenance for your big clock. All the mechanisms we typically use have lubrication-free bearings, stainless steel shafts, phenolic or plated gears, etc. So unlike the ‘old days’ with oil-filled reservoirs in the clock movements which can dry-out, the modern movement is maintenance-free. If you opt for a quartz time keeping system instead of a GPS, then you may have to periodically correct the ‘drift’ on the controller’s time by pushing some buttons, but that’s about it.
The final price quoted for your clock is the price paid. If we encounter additional unforeseen costs, we don’t pass them on to you. No add-on charges ever.
We do furnish upon request a complete Operation and Maintenance Manual for your big clock which features all the main components, brands, and technical drawings.
