“A spectacular bell tower clock that encapsulates the room and leaves you breathless.”
“A Gem in Hollywood”, written by Dean McCarthy and published in the recent anniversary issue of Beverly Hills Living Magazine, features the home of Hollywood Hills realtor royalty, Jason Oppenheim. Mr. Oppenheim approached LUMICHRON Clock Company over a year ago, requesting help to realize a dream clock, based on an historic clock tower in Brooklyn’s DUMBO neighborhood. Ian Macartney, the designer and engineer behind Lumichron, created a five-foot diameter glass clock with a laser-cut, powdercoated metal Roman dial, with hands on the inside of the room, an atypical application that provides a completely unique centerpiece for Mr. Oppenheim’s home office. The clock and chimes are operated with a computer controller for perpetual accuracy.
“As you walk through the living room, the home takes a surprising turn as you enter Jason’s office – you gasp at the chic use of space. While a silver aviator desk is the centerpiece, it’s a spectacular bell tower clock that encapsulates the room and leaves you breathless. The five-foot diameter clock was hand-made and built into the wall, with a bell that chimes each quarter hour. A light shines through the wall and a silhouette of the clock takes over the ceiling in a mesmerizing display. As the light twists and turns you’re reminded how extraordinary this home really is.”
